Cliffs Café, Kangaroo Point

Our next touristy hotspot would be Kangaroo Point!  The Cliffs Café is a newly opened outdoor dining at River Terrace, just next to the Kangaroo Point Park.  Kangaroo Point Park was officially opened by Queensland Premier Anna Bligh on 24th January 2010.  This site used to be the South Brisbane TAFE and next to it is our wedding church St Mary’s Anglican Church!  I picked St Mary’s for our wedding three years ago because I love the sandstone architecture and it is beautifully situated along the Brisbane River.

The Cliffs Café provides a simple brekky and lunch menu at a prime location.  We saw lots of families with strollers (or even cute little puppies), morning runners, cyclists enjoying the sun at the alfresco dining area.  Or you can just grab a Licks icecream or a Piazza d’Oro coffee and sit down quietly to enjoy the breathtaking river view.  We had a Big Breakfast ($15.5) which basically had everything like Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Field Mushroom, Avocado and Sourdough Toast.  Our friends ordered a Thick Raisin Toast and a Ham, Cheese and Tomato Sandwich.  It was a busy Saturday morning and we didn’t have to wait long for the brekky to come out.  Although it’s not the tastiest breakfast in Brisbane, I would say sitting in front of this spectacular view the brekky is priceless.
